Josh Dorr’s ‘Save Your Breath’ Has ‘Hot Shot Debut’ On Billboard Country Chart
ole writer and RCA Nashville recording artist Josh Dorr got the spotlight treatment from Billboard as his co-written debut single “Save Your Breath,” which was first heard on his four song, self-titled EP last May, earned the Hot Shot Debut honors on the Country Airplay chart as it arrived at #55. Billboard also featured Dorr in their Friday feature Tomorrow’s Hits, “a weekly look at new and noteworthy acts making their way toward Billboard chart success.”
As tasteofcountry.com premiered the performance video for “Save Your Breath” in mid-January, in an accompanying article Dorr told writer Billy Dukes, who characterizes him as “a songwriter with a storyteller’s sprit,” that love songs like “Save Your Breath” come naturally for him. “I’ve always been drawn to love songs,” he said. “I grew up listening to ‘90s country and a lot of Bryan Adams, and I’ve always been drawn to those kinds of songs.”
The same week of the video premiere, Dorr was one of almost 800 country music industry leaders and more than a dozen country music artists gathered in Memphis, Tennessee to kick off the 26th annual Country Cares for St. Jude Kids program to support the lifesaving work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
